- 1 lb thick-cut bacon (cut into thirds)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with foil. Place a wire rack on top.
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Rub the spice mix on both sides of each bacon piece.
- Arrange the bacon pieces on the wire rack without overlapping.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until caramelized and crispy.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving to allow the glaze to set.
Notes
- Adjust the cayenne pepper to control the heat level.
- For variations, try maple syrup + Sriracha or chipotle + cinnamon.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. Reheat in oven to re-crisp.
